Here’s to the Class of 2023! ?

Graduation day class in caps and gowns

Dear 2023 Graduate,

Congratulations on reaching this important milestone in your life! Before reading the rest of this note, I encourage you to pause, close your eyes, and say, “I did this.” Because you did. You are here.

That said, I know that graduation is also often a time of mixed emotions, as you face the uncertainty of the future and the challenge of transitioning into a new phase of life. With job hunting, physical relocations, and changes in friend groups, it can feel daunting to take the next step.

But here’s the truth:

You are the best-equipped person in the world to take your next step.

You might have moments of doubt or insecurity, but you have put in the effort to reach this point, and you will continue to thrive, whatever comes your way. You drive your own life. These next choices are entirely yours, and you’ll learn from each and every one of them. In the end, you know yourself better than anyone, and the person you’ll spend the most time with — at work, in life, in relationships — is yourself. Trust that you’ll find your own way.

It’s also okay to feel lost or uncertain at times — that’s where much of life’s richness comes from. Embrace the journey. Stay open to new opportunities and experiences.

As you approach graduation day, don’t forget to take the time to reflect on your journey so far, as well. Remember the amazing classes and cherished friendships you have formed along the way.

Remember the surprises, bumps, and — yes — the mistakes that led you to triumph. These, too, are worth celebrating.

Every experience thus far has shaped you into the person you are today. Every experience that comes after will make you wiser, better, and more empowered. Whether you are about to embark on a lifelong career or taking the first of many personal pivots, the most important thing is that you will keep growing, learning, and doing great things.

As you move forward, your growth will lead to the skills employers need — communication, adaptability, critical thinking, time management, emotional intelligence.

Each risk you take, each new project you tackle, will teach you the skills that will serve you well on whatever career path you travel.

No matter where life takes you, remember that we are proud of you and celebrating this important milestone with you. We will be here to support you as you embark on the next chapter in your career.

Congratulations again, and best of luck on your journey ahead.

Warmly,

Nicole Serres and the Star Staffing Family
