The Sacramento 100
“Sacramento 100”, written by The Sacramento Magazine, is an annual special issue that honors top business leaders in the Sacramento area for their contributions to the community. This year, the Sacramento 100 recognized the top business and civic leaders making big impacts: those who stepped up to help their region survive – and thrive – during COVID-19. We are thrilled to announce Star Staffing’s President and Co-Owner, Nicole Smart Serres, was recognized in 2021’s edition of “Sacramento 100”.
Star Staffing’s Response to the Pandemic
During 2020, Nicole, alongside CEO, and Co-Owner, Lisa Lichty, worked together to help employers adjust to the new challenges brought about by the pandemic. Star Staffing swiftly implemented a COVID-19 Resource page with safety tips, new regulations, news on unemployment, as well as a section for “Stay at Home” fun activities.
In addition, Star Staffing, a third-time Best Places to Work Firm in Sacramento, California quickly pivoted to market conditions to launch a virtual webinar series with critical information employers needed to know including topics on Covid-19 Vaccine Policies in the Workplace and Your Wellbeing: How Self-care Impacts the Organization. To date, Star Staffing hosts informational webinars and provides rich resources for both employers and job seekers.
This past year, Nicole and her team invested in new high-impact roles including a Director of Marketing Operations and a Director of Client Success. The team also focused attention on current employees, ensuring their health and wellness were a top priority.
Star Staffing’s Commitment to Their Partners
Star Staffing’s clients span across a variety of industries: food and beverage, wine, assembly and production, hospitality and events, accounting and finance, warehouse and distribution, office and administration, and executive. While many local employers continued hiring due to an increase in demand during COVID-19, other industries were hit hard by the pandemic.
Star Staffing stepped up to the plate by aiding jobless hospitality workers by finding them temp jobs in different industries while their original jobs were on pause. For the companies who saw an influx of orders due to COVID-19, Star assisted them with a speedy time-to-fill and quality employees. With the help of Star Staffing’s recruiting expertise, local employers continued hiring and operating during Covid-19.
Nicole’s Story
In 2009, Nicole Serres started her career at Star Staffing as an Account Manager and very quickly was appointed to Vice President and Co-Owner.
