Lisa Lichty
CEO
Lisa drives Star Staffing forward as one-half of its exceptional all-woman leadership team. Her position as shareholder and CEO, overseeing operations and finance, is fueled by her commitment to processes, procedures, and fiduciary responsibility. This helps Star Staffing meet—and exceed—the needs of its wide range of clients. Lisa leverages her background in human resources, finance, and strategic leadership to strengthen Star Staffing’s mission and vision, as well as its commitment to cutting-edge technology, workers’ comp cost reduction and risk control services.
Since joining Star Staffing in 2001 and later purchasing the company in 2002, Lisa has developed a dedication to risk management and safety. She currently sits on the board of directors for Star Staffing’s risk management and workers’ compensation programs, helping keep all job placements safe for the company’s employees.
Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration/finance from Sonoma State University and has an MBA in Strategic Leadership from Dominican University. She recently received the Women in Business Award from the North Bay Business Journal (2019).

Nicole Smartt Serres
President
Nicole brings her vision, drive, and expertise to Star Staffing as President and shareholder. Her commitment to providing long-term cost savings and productivity improvements for clients is an underlying goal as she oversees client relations, marketing, and the organization’s overall health.
Nicole is very active in the community sitting on the board for the North Bay Leadership Council and Santa Rosa Junior Colleges Friends of the Petaluma Campus.
Nicole is the youngest person to be awarded the Forty under 40 award by the North Bay Business Journal. Nicole is a columnist for the North Bay Business Journal, Forbes, and more. She is also the best-selling author of “From Receptionist to Boss: Real-Life Advice for Getting Ahead at Work.”
When not building relationships and executing top initiatives, you can find Nicole in her muck boots taking care of her farm chores, which include caring for goats, dogs, and cats. With the animal count always rising, Nicole inevitably has a farm-fun story to share. Just ask her!
