Job Seeker Frequently asked questions

Your questions answered.

Job Seeker Questions? We've got answers.

What is involved in the application process?

Complete our application online, or you can come into any of our branch offices and fill out an application. You will need to provide work history information, preferred positions, industries, shifts, and preference of location.

After your application is processed, you will interview with a recruiter. In the interview, you will have the opportunity to discuss your skills, job experience, and preferences for your next position.

Depending on the position of interest, you may go through further assessments.

Star Staffing does reference checks with previous employers. Once screening is complete, you will be offered jobs based on all the factors of your interview process.

How soon can I start working?

Job availability changes daily. Once your application process is complete, you will be considered based on your preferences and skills and will be offered appropriate positions. There is the potential to be put to work the very next day. Apply here to start the process.

If I want to come to the office, do I need an appointment?

You are always welcome to come to the office. An appointment is recommended to maximize your time. Reach out to your local office

What do I pay for your services?
As an applicant, you will not pay for any of the services Star Staffing provides.
How often should I contact your office after an interview?

Our recruiters will connect with you weekly once your application has been approved. You can also reach out to your personal recruiter. They’ll be you’re point of contact to get your next job!

Is my application secure?

Yes. Your ID & password are specific to you. The information in the Star Staffing system is secure in compliance State & Guidelines. What if I am not interested in a certain position when it is offered? Is it all right to turn it down?

Not every job is going to meet all your expectations – and that’s fine! If you are not interested in a position, you are free to decline. We will continue to match you with positions based on your skills and preferences.

What if I am on an assignment and decide it is not for me?

We realize sometimes it may not be a good fit – sometimes you do not know until you have tried the position.

If you are on a job and find it is not for you, contact us immediately. You may be asked to stay at an assignment long enough for us to find a replacement, but we’re on your team and we will remedy the situation as quickly as possible.

As with any interaction, communication is the key. We expect open communication from our  employees, and they can expect the same from us.

How can I stay informed about open positions?

Get instantly alerted to new jobs via our Star Staffing App! Download it anywhere you get your apps.

Some of our positions will be posted on our website. You can subscribe to the job listings page to be notified each time a new job is posted.

If I've applied in the past but am not currently on an assignment, do I need to reapply?

Once you’ve completed the application, you don’t need to re-apply. You can reach out to your recruiter and let them know you’re available for work or alert them that you are interested in a particular position you saw posted. Or you can utilize our app notifications and simply respond to the alerts as new jobs meet your criteria. However, if your application is outdated, we may need to update your information.

What is the benefit of working with a staffing agency?

We want to help you find a position that fits your needs, schedule, and skills, where you can thrive! We can often find you work fast, and work with amazing local companies who may not be posting their positions elsewhere. We may also be able to make a job match that you didn’t even know about because we know which transferable skills work best in which positions. Or maybe you’re not sure what type of job you’re interested in, or just need help getting started.

Why would I want a temporary job?

While short-term work may not sound ideal at first, it’s a great way to get your foot in the door at a company. It’s also a good way to gain new skills and learn about positions you may never have considered. Many temporary positions lead to full-time roles and can help you avoid long unemployment gaps.

What type of assignments do you hire for?

Assignments can be as short as one day or long-term, depending on the client’s need. Our focus is mainly light industrial, food manufacturing, wineries, hospitality, clerical, and call center. However, we staff a number of other industries and roles.

Where can I view open positions?

Our job board is the best place to check for new positions.  You can also join one of our local Facebook Groups where we share jobs and more.

Am I eligible for benefits through Star Staffing?

You are eligible for basic coverage right away and more comprehensive benefits after 90 days. Comprehensive benefits include 100% of an employee-only monthly premium. If you elect other coverage such as employee and spouse, employee and child, or children or family, we will pay 50% of the premium. On the rare occasion that 100% of employee-only coverage is higher, we will pay the higher contribution.
