Star Staffing is a full-service staffing agency with eight branches throughout Northern California. If you’ve never worked with a staffing agency or you are simply looking for the best agency to work with, we welcome you to check out our frequently asked questions to find out more about our services and all we offer. Of course, this is just a snapshot of the top-notch service you can expect from our team of staffing experts. Recruiting is what we do. It’s our job to build a pipeline of qualified, ready to work candidates so you can fill your positions faster. We also take care of the screening, background checks, and drug testing.

Once we determine your needs and requirements, we can offer our suggested type of staffing and the rate structure to match. You are only billed once employees are placed at your company.

Temp-to-hire, or contract-to-hire positions, are positions that allow for employers to “try out” and employee for a provisional period. Once the agreed period has ended, the employer may simply end the assignment or have the option to bring the employee on as an employee of the company. During this time, Star Staffing acts as the employer of record handling the screening, payroll, etc. This is a great option for both the company and employee to ensure a long lasting fit.

For a direct-hire position, Star Staffing facilitates the recruitment and interview process, but after an offer is accepted, they go directly onto your payroll and are never an employee of Star Staffing.

While we are often able to fill openings in 24 hours, we appreciate as much lead time as possible to find the very best candidate for your openings. If you have a specific role, or need a highly skilled employee, more lead time will be required.

Star Staffing is a full-service staffing agency that goes the extra mile to customize our services to fit your business needs. We can provide temporary hires, temp-to-hires, direct hires, payroll service, on-site management, and outplacement services.

 

We will support you with HR and employment updates and resources. Think of us as an extension of your HR team! 

Yes, we often have 1 day to a week assignments. We typically schedule for 8 hours and require a 4-hour minimum.

It’s up to you! Depending on the role and assignment length, this may or may not be something you want to utilize. When you work with us, we’ll discuss all the options and support whichever approach you prefer. Our expert recruiters always conduct two screenings to ensure only eligible, qualified candidates are being considered.

The screening process entails a discovery which is our first contact with a candidate. That is followed by a full interview and onboarding if the candidate is selected. We conduct two verifications of employment, as well as professional references. A background investigation can be conducted at the client’s request.

This is an option we can provide and would be included in your contract, but it’s not mandatory. The test is typically done in the office with results available immediately.

Our standard background check includes proof to work in the United States, previous work history, along with any criminal background. For certain positions driving records may also be requested. We can also administer drug tests by request. 

We can help! We know the ins and outs of many positions and also have tools we can utilize to ensure your job descriptions are using the right keywords that target employees with the skills you need. 

Hourly pay rates are established by the client.

Employees are eligible for basic individual medical coverage on the first day of employment and more comprehensive plans are available at 90 days of employment.

Star Staffing offers on-site representatives when it is appropriate based on the size of the client and temporary staffing needed.
